Artist's Comments

DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT DRAW SENDOH. This image came from my image archive. Who drew Sendoh?
I'm assuming someone named PRIN--she's the most popular SenRu artist/writer around. Besides,
the drawing style fit hers. Anyways, I'm just practicing. I'm not claiming any ownership over the
drawing or the character.

Just went back to "coloring 101". The last time I did this was a year ago, for a comic strip.

I didn't do well then, and I obviously didn't improve. Haha. Oh well. I pretty much colored
everything--the image was originally B& W.

Down to the nitty gritty...

Seven layers. It took me seven layers for both the shirt and the skin to get the shadows, etc.
I was so frustrated. Some artists can do 7 layers for everything. Haha. It's either I'm so
O-C or just plain dumb. Anyways, there are 3 layers of line art. I originally planned just two,
but when I overlapped the third one, it looked better (I've got linear burn to thank for that). Hehe.
I had found it harder to do the skin than the shirt. Maybe I should've applied a bit of texture to the skin too...
maybe a little grain or something? And oh, FILTERs galore on the back. LolZ. Gimme a break.
I live for filters. I just love 'em. It may look amateur-ish... but I am an amateur. So there.
I guess I didn't blur the "No.7" enough. I wanted to achieve the spray paint effect. Failed misserably.
The blurring was not enough. I didn't use a brush because it will look worse. My hand's not that steay.

I wanted a different background. I planned to use a close up of the floor boards (court) and maybe a ball somewhere...
Then I realized I don't have a freaking scanner. Making one on Photoshop would kill me. Haha. So ended up using the brick wall.
It came out too "fine". So, I did some extra "tinkling" (whatta word) and ended up with a battered-wall look.

I have a knack for placing words/phrases in the wrong places. I did that with Beach Life, and now on No. 7. The name on top
is just off. God. I'm sooooo font happy sometimes. Bear with me.

Total working hours: 8 hours

Yeah. I work that slow.

Peace out!

Life may not be the party we expect it to be, but as long as we are here anyway... we might as well dance.

Awesome! I love Sendoh Akira! (did that sound creepy?) :XD:
I think he's the best character in SD aside from Sakuragi. He's such an awesome B'ball player, a bit arrogant but he's also polite and nice which is what made me fall in love with him.
